Zirconium Dioxide, or dental zirconia, has become the new material of choice for metal-free restorations.  It boasts a flexural strength and toughness similar to traditional metal based restorations, but is esthetically superior.  Zirconia is also biocompatible and suffers from none of the adverse thermal characteristics of traditional crowns.  This allows EDA to create esthetically superior, strong restorations which are less prone to sensitivity.
